INAEL Electrical Systems leads a national R + D + i project related to energy efficiency and protection of the electrical distribution network.
INAEL Electrical Systems, a Toledo-based company, leads the EFESOT project, recently approved by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN). The project addresses the development of key equipment to improve the energy efficiency of the electrical distribution network and optimize its protection against atmospheric surges (such as those caused by electrical storms). The new technology will improve the reliability and stability of the network, thus helping to facilitate the consolidation of concepts such as the Smart Grid or the Electric Vehicle. The project, led by INAEL, has as partners IBERDROLA and two leading research institutions worldwide: the Higher Council for Scientific Research and the Department of Photocatalysis of the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. INAEL chairs the Spanish Electric Vehicle Association, and its commitment to research and innovation has resulted in the MICINN awarding three major R & D & i projects.
