Insulators are used in both transmission and distribution power lines and substations to suspend and support the electrical conductors. Gone are the porcelain or ceramic insulators that, due to their fragile resistance to various climatic and seismic conditions, could impair the operation of high and medium voltage equipment. Worldwide, the trend to improve safety and reliability in high voltage equipment is the use of silicone rubber coated composite insulators.
INAEL’s range of insulators products are made up of:
– Models of the Suspension Insulators series, available for voltages from 15 kV to 132 kV, with standard 11 and 16 terminations and breaking loads of 40 kN, 70 kN and 120 kN.
– Models of the Support Insulator series, available for voltages from 15 kV, 24 and 36 kV, for specific mechanical loads of 6 kN and 8 kN.
INAEL polymeric insulators are designed to withstand adverse climatic conditions (humidity, salinity, etc.) as well as high pollution environmental conditions, offering safety, reliability and high performance when used for electrical power distribution networks.
