LATEST NEWS

INAEL will present its new line of solar-photocatalytic materials in NANOTECH 2012 (the 11th International Nanotechnology Exhibition and Conference) in Tokyo, Japan, from 15 to 17 February 2012.

During the last two years, INAEL has coordinated an intensive working plan with universities and research institutions in order to progress towards a new generation of low-cost/highly-efficient solar photocatalytic materials that can be easily mass-produced at large scale. The research has been supported and financed by Spanish Government at country-wide level. Preliminary results and pilot-plant scale materials will be presented during the 11th International Nanotechnology Exhibition and Conference (NANOTECH 2012) to be held in Tokyo (Japan) in February 15 th-17 th.

CURRENT PROJECTS

INAEL'S COMMITMENT TO THE FUTURE

Research, Development, and Innovation: cornerstones that will drive INAEL into the future. Corporate compromise with these concepts is absolute, prompting INAEL to lead several R&D consortiums at a national and european level. R&D+i activities range from basic research up until technology deployment.

HIGH VOLTAGE POWER NETS

High voltage engineering belongs to the historical core activities of INAEL. We have envised an ambitious Innovation Program that gives response to the requirements of the modern grid: sustainability, automation, and local intelligence will be the ingredients leading to a more efficient, cost-effective, environmentally friendly power grid. Service quality, safety, and grid stability will be more important than ever, once new loads, such as the electric vehicle, massively penetrate the power system.

HIGH VOLTAGE POWER NETS

INAEL original developments in control and protection electronics have evolved into an autonomous Automation, Control, and Communications division. INAEL has become a complete-solutions provider for automation, communication and control technologies for the smart grid. In addition, specific technology development in power electronics aims to cover market niches within the ditributed generation/microgrids environment.

NANO-MATERIALS FOR ENERGY AND ENVIROMENT

10 years ago, INAEL developed the first production facility for ceramic semiconductors in Spain, one of the very few across Europe. Since then, vast experience and know-how has been gained on nanostructured semiconductor materials processing. In 2009, INAEL commenced diversification towards new nanotechnology-related business areas. In particular, taking advantage of accumulated know-how, INAEL leads a number of projects aimed towards achievement of low-cost/high-throughput nanoparticle production technologies. Applications include: (1) Photocatalysts (for water/air decontamination and for solar hydrogen production), (2) Gas sensors and biosensors (3) Nanofillers for polymer-based nanodielectrics
